Invest in You

I love learning, it’s the gateway to so many things. Whether you just do it for fun or you do it to become more knowledgeable in a certain field, the learning process can be so exciting. I don’t believe that people should be complacent in having expertise in one subject or skill so I see learning as an investment, even if in the process you didn’t realize it is.

Yeah, it’s awesome that everyone has something they know they’re really good at, but I know I can’t be the only one who feels the desire to know and do more. Complacency can lead to stagnancy and when you realize that your life doesn’t seem to be moving, it can be a scary feeling. That’s why investing in yourself through learning is so important. You should never stop learning.

To be good at something you must start somewhere and you start by investing in yourself. If you find yourself in a situation where you want to change your career, for example, don’t be discouraged by the things you don’t know. Don’t build those barriers.  And don’t watch other people’s social media lives, hoping, wishing, or wondering how to have what they have. You can’t compare your progress with anyone else’s because the journeys’ are all different and everyone measures success differently. So try not to start the comparison game, it’ll only hold you back.

Invest in your growth mentally, spiritually, and physically. Strive to let your mind grow into a positive and proactive state that allows you to create and gain the things you want for yourself. You have to invest in yourself because no one else can strive for your dreams like you can. Sure there’ll be people who support you, but they can only do so much. You have to believe in yourself, support your own dream, and be your biggest motivation.

Like I said, others can only do so much because they have their own dreams they’re working towards. While they may support you or encourage you, the momentum to get things done needs to come from you. Flip your perspective from what’s “not possible” to what is possible. What will it take to reach your goal(s)? Invest your time in that, invest your time in practicing the skill. Reach out to other people who have similar interests too, they may have helpful insights to offer.

Growth is a process and there are no miracles, you gotta want it to get to it. Just take the time to do the things that’ll help you accomplish your goals. They won’t happen on their own. If you want to get fit, make the time to go to the gym and eat healthy. If you want to learn how to draw, watch youtube and practice, practice, practice.

In DJ Khaled’s words, the #MajorKey is to invest in yourself. Asi que dale, you got this!
